What’s with the USA Patriot Act

“Those who seek temporary security in place of freedom deserve neither”  ~Benjamin Franklin.

The Patriot Act, to be ‘politically correct’, is called “Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001” and it was brought to you by G.dub Bush right after the 9/11 terror attacks upon the WTO buildings in New York City.

It was originally brought into play to be the ‘protection’ against terrorist whom we are told are hell bent upon attacking America. Though this may or may not have been the truthful intent of the act, it has proved time and again to be the opposite of what American’s want and has done nothing to stop the supposed terrorist from getting around security.

Time and again, villains and foe’s of the US, or CIA paid terror starters depending on what side of the opinion fence you’re on, have infiltrated our boundaries time and again.

The Patriot Act’s biggest downfalls in the eyes of the American public are the warrantless phone tapping and spying on everyone from peace activists to retired veterans to librarians has got many citizens up in arms. Literally.

Between 2008 up to the current date, polls have effectively shown that more guns have never been sold then now, and within good reason. The American public is outraged by the manifesto said to save them, that takes away more freedoms than were lost in FDR’s time.

Besides illegally spying on American citizens through warrantless phone tapping, the Patriot Act also includes the ability to:

-Search through emails

-Record the websites a person has visited

-Get contacts from your email contacts

-Catch money launderers

-Train a DEA here, in Africa and in East Asia (cost taxpayers $5,000,000)

-Have a “No Fly” list and a “watch” list for persons ‘suspected’ of being terrorist

-Searching Voicemails

-The reinforcement of using “Sneak and Peek” warrants to come into your home and look around without you’re knowledge or permission

-Increasing Border, Airport, Train and Boat Security

-Spying on Students (Taxpayers spent $36,800,000+ on this)

-Creating a Disaster Response Fund

-Redefining “Terrorism” to include 80% of Americans

-Establishing a regional computer forensic laboratories that can perform forensic examinations of intercepted computer evidence that taxpayers unknowingly spent $50,000,000 on…

All in all, the USA Patriot Act has done everything to undermine the American Constitution and has been repeatedly challenged by courts, tort claims and different agencies for going against the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 9th and 10th amendments.

Owing to freedom of speech, freedom to bare arms, privacy, right not to incriminate yourself, right to due process, sovereignty and the right to be free from tyranny of government.

Yet even with all this in mind, our current President Obama recently reinstated the Patriot Act for the 3rd time in it’s history, even after his attacks on former President Bush for bringing the act in to place originally.

What good has this manifesto against terrorism done? By any count given through internet searches a total of 10 terrorist attacks have been supposedly intercepted. Most of them including more plans to use planes to blow things up, and a majority of them being in Britain and not even here in the states.

While stopping these supposed terrorists with no proof from media or any reliable sources, the Patriot Act has also convicted at least 1,000 American’s and many different protesting groups of being terrorists, including a few children.
