The need for Universal Health Insurance

There’s been a lot of debate about whether the United States should switch to universal health care. Universal health care is when all citizens in that nation have free health care. The United States has private health care. Private health care is when people have to pay for their own health care. The United States should switch to universal health care.
Some people think that the United States should stay to private health care because there are delays with a universal health care system. For example, if someone made an appointment that was not an emergency they would be put on the bottom of the priority list for that hospital. While time might be an importance universal health care have more advantages than private health care.
The first reason why the United States should switch to universal health care is that the United States (along with Mexico) are the only countries with private health care, and they both pay the most for health care. The United States pays $5,711 per person for health care cost, while Canada, Australia and many other countries with universal health care pay less for health care. So therefore the United States should switch to a universal health care system because it would be more economical.
Another strong reason why the United States should switch to universal health care is the pursuit of happiness. The pursuit of happiness states that everybody has the right to obtain happiness as long as they do not violate the rights of others. It’s hard for people to be happy if they can’t get medication to get over their virus, or they can’t get their broken arm fixed. If everybody had health care no matter what their financial situation is, the United States would be providing for their happiness. This is another reason why the United States should switch to a universal health care system.
Finally, the last and most important reason we should switch to universal health care is well-known facts about health care. Very little people are insured in the United States due to financial problems and complicated health plans. Many Americans feel that the U.S. should switch to a universal health care system. So if the U.S. switches to universal health care it would take care of the peoples’ wants and needs.
If the U.S. switched to universal health care it would be more economical, provide happiness to citizens, and take care of their wants and needs.
