Law Government and Free Choice

The land of the free is nothing more than a mere past memory. The United States is slowly suffocating its people with ridiculous laws that limit free choice; the very foundation that America was built upon. In California, a new law was just passed that prohibits adults from smoking in a car with a minor. In Alabama there is a ban on the sale of sex toys. These are just two examples that the so called freest country on earth is not exactly what it’s cracked up to be.

Whatever happened to free choice, anyway? The government of Alabama means to tell me that I cannot go into a store and purchase something for my private life? Where does it stop, then? Certainly not with sex toys. Why should I have to wear a helmet when I ride a motorcycle? I don’t ride a motorcycle and I would wear a helmet, but it’s no business of any government whether or not I have one on or not. If I want to risk scrambling my brains onto cement, that’s my choice, not the government’s.

The United States has 5 percent of the world’s population and 25 percent of the world’s incarcerated population. See a problem here? Whether or not people like to hear that the U.S. is becoming less and less free, it’s not a matter of opinion, it’s a matter of fact.
