Accenture (NYSE:ACN) is the world’s largest consulting firm. Besides consulting, it has thriving technology services, and outsourcing industries. The industries include Communications, Electronics and High Tech, Media and Entertainment; Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance; Automotive, Air, Freight & Travel Services, Consumer Goods & Services, Industrial Equipment, Infrastructure & Transportation Services, Life Sciences, Retail; Chemicals, Energy, Natural Resources, Utilities; Health, Public Service. Investors will reap the rewards of this stock as it has a net income of $25.55 billion with an operating income of $3.47 billion. This stock is not cheap with a cost of $59 per share, but well worth it.

The company has over 236,000 employees in 130 countries. Incorporated in USA, Bermuda, and now Ireland. Dublin is its headquarters. Its name is now Accenture plc. To save on taxes the company made this move, however most administrative services take place in New York and Chicago.

Tiger Woods was the company’s spokesman from 1999 until 2009. Accenture’s advertising campaign changed dramatically after 2009 from those featuring Tiger to featuring animals doing unique and witty things to emphasize the high performance and wit of the company’s workforce.

 Accenture has four workforces: consultants, service personnel, solutions, and others which include subsidiaries like Avanade and Digiplug. Some of its subsidiaries provide services directly to the government like Accenture National Security Services, and Accenture Defense Group. These work directly with the military and homeland security to provide the best service. The Defense Group provides software and other services to help to fight the war under the name, WarFighters.
