Inheritance should you Offer Financial Aid to your Children now or let them Wait – Now

This is a debate that hits a strong chord for me. For many years financial issues have distorted, twisted, hurt and driven many people, let alone your own family, off the deep end. Deciding who recieves financial aid from your pocket, provided its full can be troublesome.

Your familiy is not a charity. But I believe that family is a deserving one. If any one does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his own family, he has disowned the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5: 8. All family members should offer financial aid if needed. Period.

We have been the on the receiving and giving end of this scenario. My parents and my husband’s mother have both stepped in to help us at different times in our past. They helped with some of my tuition at school. They helped with the down payment on our home.

My mother in law supported us for a month after my husband’s accident. It is the right thing to do. Have you never heard the saying you can’t take it with you. So many people are selfish and greedy and worried about their retirement years.

I am not advocating forgoing preparation for your future this title says finical aid. Aid is rendering assistance or help. So when you think about it that way, you have a familial obligation to up hold.

And this goes both ways. Last year we were able to help my son and family when they had their electricity shut off. They in turn have helped us out when we have been short. That is what aid is. An inheritance does not have to be money anyway.

You can inherit diseases, property, personality and physical traits. It is a blessing to be able to help out your family members. If you have any money or possessions left then they will still get it. But to share in your family’s well-being is always the right thing to do. Blessings are returned and honored.

I feel strongly about this debate because I have benefited many times from my family and have also returned the favors. When I was a single mom, quite often I would come home from work to find a bag of groceries on the table. Not so much as to embarrass me but a little help from my parents. It was needed and will always be appreciated.

To enjoy and share support, help and aid builds strong families, which is often in shortage these days. I desire to give loving financial aid when it may be most needed, not to mention the benefits of seeing your money at work for good. To me this is the kind of inheritance or legacy I want to pass on to my children instead of loads of money when I won’t even know it, if I ever have any!
