Anyone can Save Money this way

If you have decided that you need to save money, then you will need to figure out a way not to spend it. For many people, the more they earn the more they spend.  Here are some easy ways to save money.

Batteries – Use rechargeable batteries.  The charge time lasts longer than normal batteries, and the batteries themselves last much longer. The initial investment is more, but you will save money in the long run.

CDs, DVDs and Books  – Stop purchasing these items new.  Check them out of the library or borrow them from friends.  If you want your own copy, purchase them used at yard sales or thrift stores.

Plastic Containers – Do not waste your money on Tupperware.  Instead use the plastic containers that you get from items you purchase at the grocery store or ones you find at yard sales.  They may not last as long, but they will save you a considerable amount of money.

Vinegar – White vinegar works well for cleaning, and it can replace most of your normal cleaning supplies.  You can also use it in place of fabric softener in your washing machine.  It is a great replacement for hair conditioner, and it will leave your hair sparkling and free from soap residue.

Plastic Bags – Every time you go shopping you return home with a new supply of plastic bags.  Use them in your trash cans in place of garbage bags.  They work especially well in the small bathroom trash cans.  According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, if every person in NY City used one less plastic bag a year, our waste output would be reduced by 5 million pounds!  Discover ways to reuse them.

Gasoline – Keep your car in tip-top shape with a regular tune up.  Make sure the tires have the proper amount of air in them, and check to make sure your air filter is clean. Each of these things will increase your gas mileage.

Coffee – If you are a coffee drinker, save money by making your own coffee.  Purchase an inexpensive one cup coffee maker that uses coffee pods for your home and your office.  Stop going to coffee shops for a daily cup of coffee.

Generic Brand Products – Purchase generic brand products when you do your grocery shopping.  Many people use coupons, but make sure that the product you want to purchase is cheaper with the discount than the regular generic brand.  Most of the time they are not.  These products are just as good of quality as the name brand ones.

Heating and Cooling – If you live in an area where it is necessary to use air conditioners and heating, you can save a considerable amount of money by raising your thermostat five degrees in the summer and lowering it five degrees in the winter.  If the weather is nice outside, turn the air or heat completely off.  Cover windows on the side where the sun hits with aluminum foil to keep your house cool.

These are just a few of the easy ways to save money.  Walk through your home, and take notice of things you can change.  Put them into practice, and see how much money you can save.
